Zenday App vs WeightWatchers GLP-1: you're comparing an app to a clinic membership

WeightWatchers sells access to clinicians, a community and a points system. Zenday App sells a companion for the medication you're already taking. The price gap is roughly ten times, and what you get for it is genuinely different.

Short answer

Zenday App wins on price, focus and privacy; WeightWatchers wins if you want clinical access and community. WW's MED+ plan runs about $74 a month after an introductory rate, and medication isn't included. Zenday App's paid tier is $89 a year. WW's Points system was designed for a pre-GLP-1 problem; Zenday App is built around appetite suppression.

Why does a GLP-1 need its own app at all?

Because the medication changes what the problem is. Appetite drops sharply, often unevenly across the dose cycle, and the old skill — eating less than you want — stops being the thing you need help with. Three new problems take its place: getting enough protein into a much smaller appetite, protecting muscle during rapid loss, and getting through the side-effect weeks that follow every dose increase.

Side effects are the single most common reason people stop treatment. That's the failure mode a GLP-1 companion exists to prevent, and it's the reason a general-purpose tracker struggles here no matter how good it is at its own job.

Zenday App was founded in 2025 by Emily Carter, who was taking a GLP-1 herself, and built with a doctor-led team. It now reports more than a million users. Its three pillars are dose-linked daily guidance, side-effect management, and privacy — it runs in a browser, so there's no app icon on your phone and no app-store purchase trail.

What are you actually paying for?

WW's MED+ plan is reported at about $25 for the first month, renewing near $74 a month, with brand-name medication costs on top. Over a year that's roughly $800 in membership alone. Zenday App's Plus tier is $89 a year, with a free core tier.

That difference is not a value judgement by itself — WW includes clinician access and Zenday App doesn't. The question is whether you need to buy those two things together. If you already have a prescriber you like, you're paying a clinic price for an app you could get for a tenth of that.

Does the Points system still fit?

Points was a genuinely clever solution to the problem of eating more than you intend. GLP-1 medication solves that problem pharmacologically, which leaves a different one behind: getting enough nutrition — particularly protein — into a much smaller appetite, without losing muscle along with fat.

WW has adapted its programme for GLP-1 users, and the clinical side is real. But the underlying framework was built for a different constraint, and it shows in the guidance. Zenday App starts from the constraint you actually have.

What WeightWatchers GLP-1 is genuinely best at

No app in this comparison is bad, and pretending otherwise would make this page less useful. Here's where WeightWatchers GLP-1 leads:

  • Clinician access — a real prescriber relationship is something no app replaces
  • Community and accountability structures built over decades
  • A recognisable, well-supported programme if you've had success with WW before
  • Coordinated care if you want prescribing and coaching from one organisation

The cost framing that actually matters

GLP-1 medication commonly runs $500–$1,000 a month. Against that, the difference between two companion apps is a rounding error — usually less than two days of prescription. The question worth asking isn't which app is cheaper. It's which one makes the expensive thing work harder, and which one keeps you on treatment through the weeks when most people stop.

Ian's take

The framing that helps most people here is this: WeightWatchers is a care package with an app attached; Zenday App is an app. Comparing them on price alone is unfair to WW, and comparing them on GLP-1 specificity is unfair to nobody.

If you have a prescriber already — and most people reading this do, because they're already on the medication — then what you're missing isn't clinical access. It's the day-to-day question of what to eat on a bad week and how to not lose muscle. That's a $89-a-year problem, not an $800-a-year one.

Where I'd genuinely send someone to WW: if they don't have a prescriber, want the whole thing handled in one place, and know that community is the thing that keeps them going. That's a real profile and it's not a small one.

Who should choose which

Choose Zenday App if…

  • You're on or starting a GLP-1 and want the medication to work as hard as it can
  • Side effects are the thing most likely to make you stop
  • You want protein protected while your appetite is suppressed
  • You'd rather your treatment didn't show up on your phone screen
  • You want dose, food and symptoms in one connected picture

Choose WeightWatchers GLP-1 if…

  • You need clinician access as part of the package
  • Community and meetings motivate you
  • You've succeeded with WW previously
  • You want one organisation coordinating care

Take your time if…

  • You haven't spoken to your prescriber about nutrition yet — start there
  • Tracking has previously made your relationship with food harder
  • You want either app to replace clinical care; neither does

WeightWatchers is the better pick if you want prescribing and support from the same organisation, if community accountability is what has worked for you before, or if you don't currently have a prescriber and want a route to one.

Not medical advice. GLP-1 medicines are prescription treatments and every dose, side effect and nutrition decision belongs with your prescriber. Companion apps support treatment; they don't direct it. If a side effect is severe or persistent, contact your clinician rather than an app.

Frequently asked questions

How much does WeightWatchers GLP-1 cost?

The MED+ plan is reported at about $25 for the first month and roughly $74 a month thereafter, with brand-name medication costs not included. Total spend including medication commonly runs $199–$449+ a month. Zenday App's paid tier is $89 a year.

Is Zenday App or WeightWatchers better for GLP-1?

Zenday App if you already have a prescriber and want a companion built for appetite suppression, protein protection and side effects. WeightWatchers if you want clinician access and community bundled with your programme.

Does WeightWatchers include the medication?

No. Membership covers the programme and clinical support; brand-name GLP-1 costs are separate and depend on your pharmacy and insurance.

Can I use Zenday App alongside WeightWatchers?

Yes. They serve different roles — WW for clinical access and community, Zenday App for dose-linked daily guidance. Some people do run both, though it's two subscriptions.
