The dataset behind the reviews

Two hundred and fourteen health apps, scored on one rubric, re-tested on a schedule, with fourteen months of pricing history and a privacy teardown attached to each. Operators use it to benchmark. Investors use it in diligence. Health systems use it to decide what to recommend.

Three ways to buy the research

01 · Subscription

Category Monitor

Quarterly scored data for one category — every app, all six axes, pricing movements, permission changes, shipping cadence and shutdown risk flags. Delivered as a report plus a live data cut.

  • Quarterly report + CSV / API access
  • Price-change alerts within 72 hours
  • One analyst call per quarter
From $1,800 / quarterper category
02 · Most popular

Teardown & benchmark

We run your product — or a competitor's — through the full lab protocol and hand you everything: axis scores, accuracy benchmarks, the dark-pattern log, the SDK inventory, and a session with the reviewers who did the work.

  • 31-day protocol, two testers
  • Reference-instrument benchmarking
  • Private. Never published, never scored publicly.
From $14,0004–6 weeks
03 · Custom

Diligence sprint

For investors and corp-dev teams: an independent read on a target's product claims, retention design, data practices and category position, in two weeks, with the evidence attached.

  • Claims verification against cited studies
  • Competitive score positioning
  • Regulatory and privacy risk flags
From $9,5002 weeks

Indicative pricing. Nonprofits, academic researchers and public-health teams pay a fraction of it — ask.

Who buys this

Product & growth teams

Benchmark your onboarding, pricing and retention design against every scored competitor — including the dark-pattern count you'd rather not have.

Investors

Independent verification of product claims and category structure before you write the cheque.

Health systems & employers

Evidence and privacy grading for apps you're considering putting in front of patients or staff.

The firewall

Paying us does not buy you a score.

What a client cannot buy: a change to a published score, a preview of an unpublished review, a place on the testing schedule, removal from the leaderboard, or a mention in editorial coverage.

What a client does get: the underlying data, the analysts' time, private benchmarks, and the same conclusions we'd publish if we published them.

Structurally: private teardowns are never published and never feed a public score. Public scores are produced only from retail purchases. Reviewers do not attend sales calls, and the client list is not shared with the editorial desk before publication.

We'll say honestly whether we have it, whether we can get it, and what it costs. If we can't help, we'll say that in the first email rather than the third call.
